Viktor provides a low-code platform that enables civil engineers to enrich their Python scripts towards front-end first applications, hosted in an enterprise-ready cloud environment.

The job of a civil engineer becomes increasingly specialized, resulting in more communication requirements between teams and team members. While engineers perform many complex calculations in specialized tools such as Plaxis and AutoCad, engineers constantly have to do manual tasks like pre and post calculations and the majority of these tasks are covered outside of these tools.

Engineers are more and more automating these manual processes by writing their own Python scripts. While Python itself is great for writing powerful scripts fast, it does not serve basic software requirements out-of-the-box such as front-end capabilities, easy connections to other tools in the workflows, and enterprise governance capabilities. This limits the impact and manageability of Python scripts on creating efficient collaboration between teams and team members.

Viktor solves this problem by offering a rich Software Development Kit (SDK) tailored to the needs of construction engineers with regard to plug-and-play front-end components and integration requirements. A script written while using the Viktor SDK can be automatically uploaded to the Viktor Cloud environment owned by the engineer’s company. It can be shared with authorized parties as if it was a normal web app.

The majority of new engineers learn basic Python scripting at university these days and therefore we believe Viktor has the potential to become the go-to solution serving the engineering community best.
