Newion welcomes two new partners

John Sjölander

John Sjölander joined Newion in November 2019. He has a background in investment and technology. He comes from Industrifonden, one of the larger venture capital funds in the Nordics, where he focused on B2B software. Prior to that, he held management positions in B2B SaaS startups Sticky and Burt. At Newion, John will focus on helping entrepreneurs in the Nordics and building the network. John holds a master’s degree from the IT University of Gothenburg, Sweden. We interview John on the next page.


Herman Kienhuis

Herman Kienhuis joined Newion in January 2020.

His experience includes more than 20 years in the technology sector, and more than eight years as an investor. He started his career at McKinsey, led product development at internet company Sanoma Digital, founded SanomaVentures and built KPN Ventures into one of Europe's most active corporate venture capital funds.

Herman studied chemical engineering at the University of Groningen and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
